Our Esparanza Initiative continues its' planning process to launch during Q1 2019 next year.    Our Initiative is in line with the admonition from Ted Turner, the Founder of CNN.    We have been witness to fires, hurricanes and other calamities like never before which requires us to be educated.  Part of this is the advent of Smart Cities--we released guidance on it in the Daily Outsider Visions Property that we hereby present here as well. Each week alone, an estimated 1.3 million people move into cities, driving urbanization on an unstoppable scale.  By 2040, about two-thirds of the world’s population will be concentrated in urban centers. Over the decades ahead, 90 percent of this urban population growth is predicted to flourish across Asia and Africa. Already, 1,000 smart city pilots are under construction or in their final urban planning stages across the globe, driving forward countless visions of the future.

We have been assessing the Fires in California as our work to get the new Esparanza Foundation off the ground is progressing.    We hope to be able to be supportive in whatever way we can--as we see some of the fires have been caused by Tree Branches falling on Power Lines both in Northern & Southern California. The need to think different is ever so important.

As our on-going development continues, we wanted to report a sampling of what our community here in Orange County Does as we recently celebrated National Preparedness Month 2019. As previously reported in my newsletter, September is National Preparedness Month, and the 2019 theme is: Prepared, Not Scared. Be Ready for Disasters. ReadyOC  and  AlertOC  collaborated on this year's  National Preparedness Month toolkit  for content specific to Orange County. The toolkit  provides photos and graphics, along with sample newsletter copy to use on social media, websites, print or digital newsletters and more to promote broader awareness about emergency preparedness and the importance of registering for  AlertOC . We hope that you can share this information on your organization's social and digital channels.
